NOTH KOREA : A day after Pyongyang fired an intercontinental ballistic missile, North Korea’s dictatorial leader Kim Jong Un openly threatened the US, Japan and South Korea, saying his country will respond to all threats using nuclear weapons. Kim Jong Un said this after personally inspecting the missile launch. In fact, North Korea on Friday fired an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) towards the East Sea. This is being seen as a protest against the United States’ move to strengthen the security of South Korea and Japan. News agency ANI has given this information quoting government news agency KCNA. Kim said he was prepared to deliver a strong response with nuclear weapons, KCNA reported.
The missile launch is believed to have involved a Hwasong-17 ICBM. The Hwasong-17 ICBM is called the monster of a missile due to its enormous size. Its range is about 15,000 km. It is capable of reaching America. KCNA said the missile flew about 1,000 km (621 mi) for about 69 minutes and reached a maximum altitude of 6,041 km. On this occasion, Kim was seen with his daughter and wife. Kim said threats from the United States and its allies prompted him to accelerate enhancing his nuclear deterrence capability.
