Taiwan launched the first English news channel to reach out to the world, is constantly troubled by Chinas threats and restrictions

WORLD : Like Ukraine, Taiwan is also feeling the threat looming over it. Just as Russia waged a war to capture a small neighbouring country, China can also take any step to capture Taiwan. In such a situation, Taiwan has found a new way to reach its point to the world. The country’s first English-language channel was launched here on Monday. Taiwan’s Culture Minister Lee Jung-te said that Taiwan needs to be prepared to face China’s talk about the island. At the launch ceremony, he said that the channel has already raised Taiwan’s image internationally.

He said, Taiwan’s stories should be shared with the world. He said, our voice has not been fully heard at the international level. Lee said, so in the future we will use Taiwan’s own media to tell why this is so. The special thing is that the government-backed TaiwanPlus started working as an online streaming platform only last year. President Sai Ing-wen also supports the channel a lot. Wen said, when more and more people around the world are taking interest in Taiwan, it has become most important that we have a platform to present Taiwan to the international community, which shows content related to news, lifestyle and entertainment. The special thing is that after the visit of American politician Nancy Pelosi, China especially intensified its reaction towards Taiwan. English-speaking media has already existed in Taiwan. The biggest name among them is Taipei Times, which started in 1999.

Currently, the channel is only available in Taiwan, but Lee says they are planning to launch it in the US in the next 6 months. China keeps telling us that Taiwan is part of China and many people believe it. You tell them it’s not and they ask, why?
